FINCELO® HEC L series for LATEX PAINT
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
FINCELO® HEC is a hydroxy ethyl cellulose (HEC). It is a non-ionic water-soluble polymer, it is effective in thickening, bonding,
emulsifying, dispersing, stabilizing and water preserving, forming film and
providing protective colloid effect. It is very easily soluble not only in cold
water, but also in hot water, and can provide solutions with wider range of
viscosity.

APPLICATION
FINCELO HEC L
series products are mostly used as thickener in Latex painting. In addition to
thickening to the latex paint, it has functions of emulsifying, dispersing,
stabilizing and water-retaining. It is characterized by the significant
thickening effect, excellent color development, film forming and storage stability.
HEC is nonionic cellulose ether which can be used in a wide range of pH values.
It has good compatibility with other material, such as pigment, auxiliaries,
fillers and salts, good workability and leveling performance. Application
methods including brushing, rolling and spraying could be used. L series
products have good workability and
leveling effect.
Having been applied, it is not easy to drip, sag or spatter.

METHOD OF USE L SERIES FOR LATEX PAINT
Directly adding
with grinding paint
1）In the vat
with high cutting agitator adding appropriate purified water. （Under general
conditions,
ethylene glycol, wetting
agent and film former etc. all added in this step.）
2）Stir
constantly and slowly add hydroxyethyl cellulose in the solution uniformly,
continue to stir
until all particulate matter
drenched.
3）Then adding
the preservative, alkaline additives, etc, such as: pigment dispersing agent.
4）Stir until all
hydroxyethyl cellulose completely dissolved（solution viscosity increased
significantly）, then adding
other constituent which in the formula, grinding till to paint.
Equipped with
mother liquor
This method is equipped with
a high concentration of mother liquor first, then add it to the latex
paint. The advantage is this
method has larger flexibility, it can add in paint finished product directly,
but
it must be appropriately
stored. The step is similar as the above 4 steps, the difference is here does
not
need high cutting agitator,
only need some agitators which power enough to keep hydroxyethyl
cellulose in the solution
dispersed uniformly. Continue to stir without stop until completely dissolved
into the viscous solution.
Pay attention to: preservatives must be added in the mother liquor asap.

PACKAGING AND STORAGE
FINCELO® HEC use 25KG three-in-one composite paper
bag with inner PE film.
Keep away from rain, sunshine during
transportation.
Store in a ventilated/dry place, avoid
moisture, don’t store together with other chemicals.
Easy to absorb moisture. Please seal and
pack after opening and store in a dry place.
